Indian doctor’s big feat, Dr. Vimee Bindra achieves SRC’s Master Surgeon accreditation

She becomes the first doctor from India to get this status in Multidisciplinary Endometriosis Care.

In what can be termed as a notable achievement, Dr. Vimee Bindra (MS MD), a leading Endometriosis Excisional Surgeon in India. achieved accreditation from Surgical Review Corporation ( SRC ) as a Master Surgeon in Multidisciplinary Endometriosis Care. She became the first doctor from India to achieve this status. This accreditation recognizes her commitment and high standard of delivery of quality patient care and safety.

It may be noted that SRC accredited surgeon means that Dr. Bindra has met internationally recognized standards. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous inspection process are granted accreditation.

Established in 2003, Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) is an internationally recognized, nonprofit, patient safety organization dedicated to recognizing and refining surgical care. SRC accredits the top hospitals, surgeons and health professionals worldwide that meet proven standards.

Elated with the honour, Dr Vimee Bindra said,” A lot is involved when accreditation is applied for. These requirements include surgical volumes, facility equipment, a virtual tour of the facility, clinical pathways and standardized operating procedures, a random selection of files and their scrutiny, and emphasis on patient education and continuous quality assessment. Inspectors evaluated all aspects of these standards and granted us the accreditation. I am thankful to my multidisciplinary team who has always been there for providing the best care to endometriosis patients. Health care facilities and surgeons seeking an SRC accreditation undergo an extensive assessment and inspection process to ensure the applicant meets SRC’s proven standards and requirements. Inspectors educate staff in the accredited departments on best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

She was trained in minimally invasive surgery in France and Mumbai. She did her advanced fertility training in UK and cosmetic gynaecology fellowship certified by American Board in Dubai. She also did her hospital management through ICFAI and she is a fellow of ICOG as well. Dr Bindra recently founded Endometriosis foundation of India to raise awareness with relevant stakeholders and policy makers.
