About the Symposium
‘IndiGlobal Cancer Care Symposium-2024’ – ‘The Art of Conquering Cancer’ aims to bring much-needed attention and action against the ever-increasing burden of cancer on India.
Cancer is the second largest cause of death in the world. The National Cancer Registry Programme’s recent study indicates that India’s cancer burden might rise from 1.39 million cases in 2020 to 1.57 million in 2025.
Multiple factors including late-stage turnout, limited access to appropriate diagnosis and treatment, and financial burden all contribute to the trend of an increase in the burden of cancer-related morbidity and death in the country. Moreover, in response to the free cancer screening, high-risk populations continue to have poor acceptance rates.
In addition to providing affordable and accessible healthcare facilities, a greater understanding of patients’ preferences, early treatment facilitators, and societal hurdles can enable better cancer care in India.
World Cancer Day observed on 4th February annually is a global advocacy day observed to promote cancer awareness, educate the citizens about the ailment, and encourage governments and advocacy organizations across the globe to combat and conquer the illness.
The constant advancement in medical technology and health infrastructure has shown improvements in life expectancy and saved many lives in cancer cases. Nevertheless, a constant review, upgraded approach, and innovation is needed to arrest the rise in the cancer rate and ensure disease prevention and management.
Marking the month towards awareness of cancer, IndiGlobal Media Network in association with state and central governments, leaders from the healthcare sector, and advocacy organizations would host a two-day ‘IndiGlobal Cancer Care Symposium-2024’ – The Art of Conquering Cancer.
