He said that there must be only 50 Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons in India like Dr Vidyasagar from Sunshine, who specialises in this treatment. He desired Dr Vidyasagar would develop and train three more Vidyasagars like himself to ultimately serve the affected kids and their worried parents.
Giving a power-point presentation afterwards, Dr Vidyasagar said that Sunshine Hospital has been holding an exclusive Clubfoot clinic every Monday from 9 am to 12 noon since 2015 to cater to affected children.
He said that Sunshine has so far treated nearly 600 kids for clubfoot and cases have come from States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Orissa, West Bengal, Assam apart from both Telugu States.
Dr Vidyasagar said treatment involves casts and braces and minimally invasive procedure if needed. He stressed keeping on braces daily for 4 years failing which there will be a recurrence of the deformity.
