National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), has awarded A+ rating to Punjab’s Chitkara University. Only 5% Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in India have been awarded with such a coveted grade. Chitkara scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.26 on a 4 point scale.
Good infrastructure, good education, innovation and research arrangements; cleanliness in the entire campus; location of the institute and good placement opportunities played in the university’s favour.
NAAC accredition is very prestigious for any university. It is an autonomous body of UGC which assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Seven criteria of NAAC assessment are: Curricular Aspects; Teaching-learning & Evaluation; Research, Innovations & Extension; Infrastructure & Learning Resources; Student Support & Progression; Governance, Leadership & Management; and Institutional Values & Best Practices.
